> BIOGRAPHY's world soccer columnist, Gabriele Marcotti, has served as Sports Illustrated's main European stringer since 1996.

He is a correspondent for The Times of London and writes regularly for the Sunday Herald in Scotland and Corriere dello Sport and La Stampa in Italy. His work has appeared in such publications as the Financial Times, the London Daily Mail, Champions and Arena. He co-hosts two weekly radio shows on TalkSport and frequently appears on television throughout Europe. He has also written several books, including The Italian Job, co-authored with Gianluca Vialli.

Currently based in London, Marcotti earned a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University in New York City. He is fluent in Italian, English and German; born in Italy, he was raised in Chicago, Poland, Germany, New York, London and Japan.
