Reactions: World Soccer Top 10 Users sound off on last week's rankingsPosted: Monday April 03, 2000 05:20 PM
CNN and World Soccer magazine release their votes each Monday for the Top 10 football club worldwide, and we want to know your opinion. Below is a selection of some of the best feedback from the last week. Check back next week to see the response to this week's Top 10. Liverpool have been awesome in the recent weeks, losing only one game in 2000. They are in third in the premiership and in much better form than Leeds. They deserve to be in the Top 10. Watch out Champions League next year.
With Leeds only one point ahead of a constantly improving Liverpool it is only a matter of time until Liverpool burst into the top ten. They are the only club who can break Manchester United and indeed the only club in the world who United genuinely fear.
Man United are the best and will stay No 1. forever!! They are very dominating!
I've watched Corinthians playing and each time more I get realized that's the best. Its crushing attack scores more goals than any other, and now the Brazilian National team has four Corinthians players. You should consider this facts.
Im very thrilled about seeing Galtasaray do so well in the EUFA CUP and hopefully see them bring the cup home to Turkey.
I finally see AC Milan in the Top 10. They deserve it, as one of the best clubs in the world of soccer.
If things go on as they are now, I think there is very little chance of Manchester United surrendering the top spot in the top 10. Barca fans may disagree, but it does look as if United are running away with the top spot till the end of the season.
Corinthians deserves the first spot in the Top 10. It's the World Champion and has won the last six games with high scores in South America.
And what about Dynamo Kiev? What do they have to do to reach the CNN Top 10? Reuters have already placed them 6th, about 20 spots above Galatasaray. Why are the Turks there and Dynamo isn't?
Galatasaray is the only Turkish team that reached the semifinals of UEFA Cup. They didn't lose any single Europian Game since they knocked out of the Champions League. They are doing very well in Turkish league too. Galatasaray will most probably be the campion of the Turkish League 4th time in the last 4 years. So I think Galatasaray deserves a higher rank in Top 10!
I cannot quite understand how Juventus, last week number four in the poll, can be bounced out of the top ten altogether. They lost for the first time in a very long time, according to your article for the first time in 22 matches, and it wasn't exactly to a no-name team but to AC Milan, the defending champions in Italy.
Galatasaray in the Top 10? No way. If you need a second UEFA Cup semifinalist other than Leeds to put in the Top 10, it should be Arsenal. In the last two UEFA Cup rounds, Arsenal has destroyed Deportivo la Coruna and Werder Bremen. Additionally, their London rivals Chelsea deserve a Top 10 spot as they have reached the Champions League quarterfinals.
It's good to see a ranking that wisely acknowledges Man Utd's current form. Other online rankings unjustifiably favour other European teams.
I believe that there should be a Mexican team on the top ten (Atlas) which earlier in the year tied to River Plate in the Copa Libertadores and lost to them a few weeks ago by a minimal margin of one goal. Which the ref. played a major role in there loss.
