Chat: Mario Andretti

Motorsports legend chats Monday at 4 p.m. ET

Latest: Tuesday August 15, 2000 05:27 PM

Mario Andretti Mario Andretti remained competitive until his retirement in 1994. Robert Laberge/Allsport

Mario Andretti will join CNNSI.com users for a chat Monday, Aug. 21 at 4 p.m. ET.

At 60, Andretti still looks like he can handle a 1,500-pound Champ Car - and he still can. The 1969 Indy 500 winner competed at Le Mans this year, and he can still hold his own in a CART machine.

Andretti retired from CART after the 1994 season. He is best-known for being arguably the most versatile driver of all time - he is the only man to win the Daytona 500 (1967), the Indy 500 (1969) and the Formula One World Driver’s Championship (1978).
